 Welcome to Umbria, the cradle of Etruscan civilisation, a place in which nature, art and intellectual life have flourished for thousands of years. You will find us between Orvieto and Todi, in an area of great cultural interest, close to the borders of Lazio and Tuscany, not far from the cities of Perugia, Assisi and Spoleto. Fattoria Ma' Falda is situated at an altitude of 550 metres, with a panoramic view of a beautifully undulating landscape, on the foothills of the extinct volcano Monte Peglia, overlooking the lake of Corbara. The farm is surrounded by two nature reserves of great interest in matters of flora, fauna and geology: The protected oasis of the Peglia mountain and the park around the river Tiber.The grounds of our farm surround an old manor house which was built in the 18th century. It was first used as a postal office and a place for changing horses. Its 12 hectars of land are now divided between grazing grounds, woods, olive groves and fruit orchards. The running of the farm is now based on agriculture and animal husbandry for our own production of cheese, virgin oil, meat and honey. We keep goats, sheep and pigs. We are in the process of acquiring a formal recognition as an eco-farm (ecological farm).The name of the farm comes from an old well which was used by the people and animals of the valley, and which we happened to rediscover in the near vicinity of the main building.   Our holiday farm Fattoria Ma' Falda lies in an extraordinarily beautiful environment in the middle of Italy?s so-called green core. The agritourism is surrounded by protected nature with a particularly rich flora and fauna, as well as beautiful cultivated land.  Fattoria Ma'  Falda is an ideal holiday spot for those dreaming of a green holiday, a taste of rural Italy and of the characteristic nature of this Mediterranean country, or those who simply wish to be in the midst of the daily activities on a farm with peaceful surroundings. Our farm is at the same time an excellent starting point for those seeking cultural experiences and events, given its central location in relation to places like Orvieto, Todi, Perugia, Assisi, and Spoleto, as well as Rome and Florence.  We have three flats to let. These flats are parts of old farm buildings, restored and furnished with care and simplicity. All the flats are fully equipped with kitchen, washing machine, TV, a separate entrance and your own outdoor space. Cats, dogs and small pets are welcome.  We offer both tastings and sale of our own produce of goat?s cheese and other milk products (season dependent), virgin oil and honey, fruit and vegetables. The hosts at Fattoria Ma' Falda have four different mother tongues: Norwegian, Italian, German and French, as well as speaking English and Spanish!     It is possible to do fishing, participate in organized walks and do canyoning. There are several riding centres in the area.
