The Sant'Illuminato farm is situation in the upper Tiber river valley, near the border between Umbria and Tuscany.
Within the 50-hectare farm there are ancient farm buildings which were originally owned by the Bourbon del Monte family. Among these, one (at about 300 metres above sea level and from which it's possible to overlook the plain of the Tiber valley) has been chosen to house guests to the farm. This architecturally attractive construction dates back to the end of the 17th century, and it was enlarged later as was typical of the time to expand with the residential and farming needs of the families who came along afterwards.
The house has recently been remodelled, maintaining both the original interior and exterior architecture as much as possible, in addition to keeping the original building materials where feasible (exposed beam ceilings, flooring, fireplaces, bread oven, etc.).
The building has also been made more comfortable by the addition of the "amenities" which guests request for their rural holiday.
The five independent apartments which have been created from the remodelling project are all quite similar: sitting room with fireplace and appropriate furnishings, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom with shower. Heating is centralised and each apartment has a thermostat.
In the area surrounding the building there is a swimming pool (6x12 metres) with an against-current swimming system and hydromassage.
Near the pool, in the former tool house, there is another one-room apartment with shower and bath.
On either side of the house there is a small lake (surface area 10,000 sq metres each).
In both lakes it's possible to go fishing from the bank or to use a small row boat. Sloping fields and mixed woods (broadleaf and coniferous trees) act as a frame to the entire guest complex which covers an 18-hectare area and which is completely fenced. A large pinewood flanks one of the small lakes.
On the flatlands of the farm there is the Sant'Illuminato landing strip with a grass-covered strip (550 x 25 m) for ultralight aircraft (ultralight motorised aircraft, motorised hang gliders, etc.) or tourist aircraft of civil aviation.
At the landing strip it is possible to participate in sports activities related to flight such as tourist flights, flights in hot-air balloon and hang glider.
In addition, at the farm guided visits are organised to our various structures or to others in the Umbrian area (local product tastings, enological-gastronomic and artisan itineraries in the upper Tiber River valley).
Our guests can take advantage of a series of conventions with typical restaurants and inns in the area. For horse lovers, riding excursions are organized (riding centre ca. 3 km away). Other sports facilities (gyms, covered swimming pool, soccer fields, tennis courts, etc.) or town businesses and services (pharmacies, post office, banks, supermarkets, etc.) can easily be reached from the farm.
Some of the places within easy reach from the farm: Città di Castello (18 Km); Arezzo (50 Km); San Sepolcro (32 Km); Cortona (35 Km); Gubbio (42 Km); Perugia (55 Km); Assisi (68 Km); Todi (90 Km); Lago Trasimeno (42 Km).

Sant’Illuminato is easy to reach:

from ROME (A1): exit ORTE and go toward PERUGIA/CESENA (E45). After you pass PERUGIA PONTE SAN GIOVANNI, follow the indications for CESENA and exit at PROMANO (about 50 km from PERUGIA). Go toward TRESTINA and then CALZOLARO. Once you’ve passed CALZOLARO take the junction for LUGNANO and follow the indications for Agriturismo di Sant'Illuminato.

from MILAN (A1): exit at AREZZO and go toward SAN SEPOLCRO/CITTA' DI CASTELLO (E45). Once you’ve passed CITTA' DI CASTELLO in the direction of PERUGIA, exit at PROMANO (about 50 km from PERUGIA) and go toward TRESTINA and then CALZOLARO. Once you’ve CALZOLARO take the junction for LUGNANO and follow the indication for Agriturismo di Sant'Illuminato.

by air : Perugia International Airport (Sant’Egidio). Distance from the airport, about 40 Km.

by tourist or ultralight aircraft : Sant’Illuminato landing strip (appropriate only for ultralight or tourist aircraft of civil aviation able to operate on a surface of 550 x 25 m and after authorisation by the landing strip operator).

by train: PERUGIA-PONTE SAN GIOVANNI train station, Ferrovia Centrale Umbra line toward SAN SEPOLCRO. Get off at TRESTINA.

There are two bedrooms (one with double bed, the other with two singles), a good-sized sitting room with fireplace and double sofa bed and satellite TV, as well as an equipped kitchen. The bathroom has a shower. This apartment is able to accommodate disabled guests, and has a suggestive view of one of the small lakes. There is centralised heating with a thermostat located in the apartment.

The Olive apartment has three rooms in 62 sq. m. and is on the first floor. It has two bedrooms (one with double bed, the other two singles), a sitting room with fireplace and double sofa bed. There is an equipped kitchenette and satellite TV is available. From this apartment there is a view directly over the green valley and both of the small lakes. There is centralised heating with a thermostat located in the apartment.
Rose Mq: 70 mq.	On request
The Rose is a three-room apartment (70 sq. m.) located on the first floor. It has two bedrooms (one with double canopy bed, the other two singles); the sitting room is on the upper floor in the mansard and it has a fireplace and double sofa bed. There is an equipped kitchenette in the mansard as well, and satellite TV is available. This is one of the split-level apartments and from it you have a view over one of the small lakes. There is centralised heating with a thermostat located in the apartment.
Grape Mq: 48 mq.	On request
The Grape is a two-room apartment (48 sq. m.) on the first floor. It has one double bedroom, a sitting room with fireplace and a single sofa bed, equipped kitchenette, and satellite TV. The bathroom has a shower. The view from this apartment is particularly suggestive since you can admire the green valley and the crest of the Umbran-Marche Apennine mountains. There is centralised heating with a thermostat located in the apartment.
