Absolutely not. Aosta is full of places and monuments from the Roman period, as well as active excavations. However, the history of the Valle d’Aosta is woven together with that of other peoples who have shared the valley or have been involved in its history, leaving traces of their presence.
The museum presents through numerous artefacts and clear documentation the various phases of regional history beginning from the 1st century A.D.: Celtic, Gallic, Greek and Byzantine coins, ceramic objects, jewels and more.
